Alexander Zverev's appearances in Germany are generally few and far between. For the 2019 game year, tennis fans, as of now, can plan with their three: in early February at the Davis Cup first round match in Frankfurt against Hungary, then at the classic lawn in Halle / Westphalia - and again in Munich at the MTTC Iphitos.
There Zverev has won the title in the last two years, each with sovereign performances in the final: 2017 against Guido Pella, the following year against Philipp Kohlschreiber. From April 29 to May 5, 2019, the triple should be full, which organizer Michael Mronz announced with great pleasure, of course.
Munich and Madrid - something is possible
The main thanks go to the sponsors. "Only through them are we able to present a world-class field to the viewers year after year. Welcoming the reigning world champion at the BMW Open by FWU in 2019 is of course something very special, ”said Mronz.
Anyone else who will find their way to the Bavarian capital is currently working on tournament director Patrik Kühnen. With good arguments: After all, the tournament in Munich can be seen as an excellent indicator of the immediately following ATP Masters 1000 event in Madrid: In 2015, Andy Murray traveled to Madrid as the Munich winner - and also won the tournament there. Alexander Zverev did the same last year.
