Alexander Zverev very satisfied with the tennis year 2021

Alexander Zverev is already happy with his tennis year 2021. "If I hadn't won another match and only the gold medal, it would have been the best year of my life," said the 24-year-old Olympic champion in an interview with n-tv.

At the beginning of August, the German top player had the greatest triumph of his career in Tokyo. The really big coup in major tournaments, however, was still denied him.

Most recently, Zverev failed in the semifinals of the US Open to Novak Djokovic, but he is undaunted by his great ambitions. "I have two huge goals ahead of me. These are of course the Grand Slams and to become number one in the world," said Zverev, for whom the Laver Cup in Boston is due for the first time this coming weekend.

In the team competition he will meet with New York Champion Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas with "Team Europe" and "Team World".
