Andy Murray beat Frances Tiafoe in Antwerp

Andy Murray still has reason to be in a good mood: After his strong performance in Indian Wells, the former world number one is in the second round at the ATP 250 tournament in Antwerp. At the start, the Scot defeated Frances Tiafoe after defending second match points 7: 6 (2), 6: 7 (7) and 7: 6 (8). Thus, the Scot also returned the favor for the defeat in Winston-Salem around two months ago.

Murray and Tiafoe fought a battle of wear and tear on center court. All three sets went into a tiebreak, in the end the Scot converted his second match point after 3:45 hours. After the longest three-set game of the year, Murray will now meet Diego Schwartzman, who is in second place.

Meanwhile, Jan-Lennard Struff also made it into the second round. The German beat Albert Ramos-Vinolas on Court 1 at the start with 6: 3, 3: 6, 6: 3. He is now dealing with Lloyd Harris or Zizou Bergs.

Dennis Novak, however, had no reason to be happy. The Austrian lost to Marton Fucsvocis 6: 7 (4) and 2: 6 despite a 5: 2 lead in the first set. In addition, thanks to a 7: 6 (2) and 7: 6 (3) success over Gianluca Mager, Lorenzo Musetti fixed a second-round duel with his compatriot Jannik Sinner.
