Especially Stefanos Tsitsipas seems to have taken the momentum from the principality with him to Barcelona: The Greek defeated local hero Jaume Munar 6-0 and 6_2 and now meets Alex de Minaur, who was able to assert himself against Alexander Bublik. Tsitsipas is in second place behind record winner Rafael Nadal in Barcelona.
Andrey Rublev, who lost the final against Tsitsipas 3: 6 and 3: 6 on Sunday, held out against Federico Gaio 6: 4 and 6: 3. Albert Ramos-Vinolas is now waiting for the Russian.
In the round of 16 there is also a Canadian hit: Denis Shapovalov meets fellow countryman and friend Félix Auger-Aliassime . The latter improved after a weak start against the Italian teenager Lorenzo Musetti and won 4: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 0. Shapovalov defeated Jeremy Chardy 6-3 and 7-5.
