ATP Challenger Guayaquil: Daniel Altmaier is in the final!

Daniel Altmaier has reached the final of the Guayaquil ATP Challenger event. There the German is now up against the number one of the tournament, Federico Coria.

Daniel Altmaier can crown a strong week in Ecuador by winning the title on Sunday. The German is in the final of the ATP Challenger event in Guayaquil, in which Altmaier went as number three. On Saturday evening (CET), the 24-year-old prevailed in straight sets against Marco Cecchinato from Italy.

In the final, Altmaier will now face Argentinian Federico Coria. The Argentine is number one of the tournament and prevailed in a gripping semifinal against Juan-Pablo Varillas in the tie-break of the third set. For Altmaier, reaching the final means a live ranking of 82nd place. In the event of a triumph, the German would move up to 80th place.
