It was a good start for tennis professionals from Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the three ATP Challenger tournaments of the week. At the ATP Challenger 80 hard court tournament in Nur-Sultan, which is endowed with 54-160 US dollars, five players from the German-speaking nations are still in the race after the first day. Mischa Zverev (ATP 291) won his opening match against Danylo Kalenichenko (ATP 430) 6-2, 7-5 in Kazakhstan. /

From an Austrian perspective, Jurij Rodionov (ATP 297) also prevailed against local hero Denis Yevyeyev (ATP 313) in the first round with 6: 3, 6: 7 (2), 6: 3. In addition to the 20-year-old Lower Austrian, Maximilian Neuchrist (ATP 702) missed the jump to the next round. The 28-year-old from Vienna lost to the Ukrainian Illya Marchenko (ATP 379) 4: 6, 5: 7.

There is no player from Switzerland in Kazakhstan. Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 147) was the only Swiss player in the tournament to lose his opening game against the Czech Zdenek Kolar (ATP 270) 6: 4, 4: 6, 3: 6.

German duel between Zverev and Maden

The three Germans Yannick Maden (ATP 130), Julian Lenz (ATP 211) and Johannes Härteis (ATP 367) will not be able to intervene until tomorrow. While Lenz and Härteis still have to play their first round game against the 18-year-old Kazakh Beibit Zhukayev (ATP 1273) and against Fabien Reboul from France (ATP 176) on Tuesday, there is a German duel in round two: maggots have to prove against Zverev in the last game of the day. Rodionov continues in the second round with the game against the Russian Roman Safiullin (ATP 230).

This week, Jeremy Jahn from Munich is also active on the Challenger Tour at the ATP Challenger 80 tournament in Campinas, Brazil, and at the Sánchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona, the Swiss Sandro Ehrat (ATP 298), who is on Tuesday in the second Round against Italian Filippo Baldi (ATP 158). Berlin-based Rudolf Mollleker (ATP 175) is also playing his second round match in Catalonia against 18-year-old Spaniard Alejandro Moro Canas (ATP 1911).
