Great success for Casper Ruud : The fourth in the world rankings made it into the final of the ATP Finals for the first time in his career. In the semifinals, the Norwegian didn't give Russia's Andrey Rublev a chance and clearly won 6:2 and 6:4.
While Ruud put in his usual solid performance, Rublev had a pitch -black day just 24 hours after his powerful comeback win over Stefanos Tsitsipas . Nothing went right for the 25-year-old from Moscow, from the point of 2-1 he lost ten games in a row from his point of view.
Ruud in the final against Djokovic
Ruud mercilessly exploited his opponent's weak performance and never left any doubts about the outcome at any point in the match. The Scandinavian wobbled a bit in the end, but served confidently on the second attempt to win 6: 2 and 6: 4.
In the final, Ruud meets Novak Djokovic on Sunday at 7 p.m. (live on TV and live stream on Sky and WOW and in our live ticker). The 21-time Grand Slam winner had prevailed in the first semi-final against Taylor Fritz in two tight sets .
