They would have shown the best match of the tournament only in the final - that was the conclusion of Nicolas Mahut after the 6: 4 and 7: 6 (0) at the side of Pierre-Hugues Herbert against Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram. Herbert sprinkled flowers for his partner: Mahut is like Benjamin Button, who gets younger with age. In fact, it was the returns of the now 39-year-old Mahut that brought the two French onto the road to victory.

For Herbert / Mahut, who were defeated in the group stage against Ram / Salisbury with 11:13 in the match tie-break, the win in Turin meant the second big championship of the year. The first came about in Roland Garros in the spring. In 2019 Herbert and Mahut had already won the title at the end of the season of the ATP Tour in London.

Ram could live reasonably well with the defeat. And raised the duo Herbert and Mahut to one of the best of the past decade at the award ceremony.
