Actually, the third match between Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas should have come in the evening. The Greek had to withdraw due to an elbow injury, and Norrie is replacing Tsitsipas. After Jannik Sinner, the Briton is the second substitute to serve in Turin. Sinner moved up for Matteo Berrettini on Tuesday.

Ruud was able to convince in his first match against Novak Djokovic at least in the first set. The Norwegian clearly won his only encounter with Norrie a few weeks ago in the San Diego final.
