Following the loss to Dominic Thiem, the ATP Tour's statistics department had published a tweet stating that Roger Federer's record at the ATP Finals would have dropped to 57:16. Of course, correct. Equally true, however, that these 57 victories among the male tennis professionals are unmatched. And by far, Ivan Lendl follows with 39. On Tuesday, Federer now put it on number 58, with a concentrated 7: 6 (2) and 6: 3 against Matteo Berrettini. Thus, the Swiss still has chances to reach the semifinals, but would probably have to do so on Thursday Novak Djokovic. However, Federer has not won against him since 2015. At that time, however, in the London O2 Arena.

The first round against Berrettini ran until the twelfth game without any incidents, then Federer got the first breakball of the match over skin. The Italian fended off the set ball, had no chance in the tiebreak. Federer took the momentum, took his opponent equal to the start of passage two for the first time from its serve. Berrettini went to 3 to 4 without a chance, then forgot initially two ways to rebreak, after a game of Federer a third. It should be the last in this match.

In the second match of the day in the group Björn Borg Dominic Thiem and Novak Djokovic meet at 21.00 CET. The winner of this game has his place in the semi-finals almost certainly. Thiem had beaten Federer in his first appearance as well in two sets as Djokovic Berrettini.
