Andrey Rublev is in the semifinals of the Nitto ATP Finals

Andrey Rublev is in the semifinals at the Nitto ATP Finals in London after a strong fighting performance. Both opponent Tsitsipas and the Russian had one win and one defeat in the first two matches in Turin. While Novak Djokovic won all matches in Group A, Daniil Medvedev suffered three defeats. Surprisingly.

With Djokovic in the round of four, Andrey Rublev is now also there. However, it didn't look like that for a long time, at the start of the decisive group game, Tsitsipas was in impressive shape against Andrey Rublev and didn't make a single mistake in section one without need. And consequently secured it clearly with 6:3.

Rublev strikes back

In the second set, however, Rublev found his way into the match better and better, the Russian dictated his service games and struck ice cold when the score was 4: 3. A few seconds later, Rublev closed the sack with his own serve and made it 6: 3 to 1: 1 sets.

Now the Russian clearly had the upper hand. The 25-year-old stopped complaining almost entirely and showed a highly focused performance - Tsitsipas, on the other hand, repeatedly let it appear that he was anything but satisfied with his game. That didn't change even after Rublev's early break. That should have been the decision in this match, Tsitsipas couldn't find a way back into the game and had to watch Rublev create another break and a little later perfect the 3: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 2 success .
