ATP: Gojowczyk surprises Struff in Montpellier

Peter Gojowczyk caused a surprise in the duel with the German number two Jan-Lennard Struff. The 31-year-old from Munich, ranked 144th in the world, beat the Warsteiner on Tuesday at the ATP tournament in Montpellier 6: 3, 6: 4 in 1:18 hours.
Struff, number 37 in the world, last failed in the first round at the Australian Open. The same applies to Laura Siegemund from Metzingen, who now also retired early in Adelaide, Australia. The 32-year-old lost to number seven seeded Kazakh Julia Putintseva 4-6, 4-6.
Meanwhile, Yannick Hanfmann from Karlsruhe celebrated a success. The 29-year-old beat the Australian James Duckworth 6: 2, 6: 4.
