Rublev has fond memories of Hamburg's Rothenbaum, as he was in the final last year, which he lost to Nikoloz Basilashvili. In turn, Roberto Bautista Agut had to admit defeat at the start of the current tournament. After winning the first set, Rublev allowed his opponent to make a comeback in the second round. As is known from the 22-year-old Russian, however, he was not unsettled by minor setbacks. And continued to play his powerful game unimpressed. For Rublev it was the second success in the fourth match against Bautista Agut, his only win so far was last year at the Davis Cup final tournament in Madrid.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, however, is now leading the all-time record with Dusan Lajovic. The Serbian won at Wimbledon in 2018, and Tsitsipas wrote to Beijing for the first time last year. The first set in Hamburg was hard fought, Tsitsipas narrowly won the tie-break. And also started round two with a break, which he returned immediately. After that, however, the favorite prevailed, who will face Rublev on Saturday.

Casper Ruud and Ugo Humbert on one side and Alexander Bublik and Cristian Garin on the other are fighting for the two places in the second semifinals. The number one seeding list, Daniil Medvedev, had to admit defeat to Humbert at the start.
