Cameron Norrie is having a very strong season

Cameron Norrie as the first Briton after Andy Murray in the singles at the ATP final tournament, which will be held in Turin for the first time this year? Why not? The 25-year-old, born in Johannesburg and based in London for a long time, is in 15th place in the current race - with good prospects of climbing even further on Monday. Because at the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Los Cabos, the left-hander, who was in first position, is in the semifinals after an effortless success against Ernesto Escobedo. And so is the only non-US-American.

First, Norrie will have to deal with Taylor Fritz, in the final the winner of the match between John Isner and Brandon Nakashima will wait. The latter is considered to be one of the greater hopes for a better American future in male tennis, and Nakashima also tried to prove itself last fall on the European Challenger circus. And also opened in Germany, for example in Ismaning.

Nakashima, long looked after by Pat Cash, the 1987 Wimbledon winner, is the only unseeded player in the semifinals. And possibly playing the best tournament of his career: On the way to the semifinals, the youngster knocked Sam Querrey and Jordan Thompson the numbers four and five out of the tableau one after the other.
