Daniil Medvedev and the lawn - that has been a rather difficult relationship so far because it usually only takes place in short episodes. After the Russian had already indicated last week in HalleWestfalen, despite his early elimination against Jan-Lennard Struff, that he was willing to get involved in the grass, he now followed suit at the Mallorca Championships. And stands after a 7: 5 and 6: 1 against Casper Ruud in the semifinals.

At the beginning of the second round, however, both players lost their focus a little, the first three service games were lost. Medvedev made another break to 4: 1, it looked like a clear thing for the reigning ATP world champion. Ruud scored another 30:40, but Medvedev served himself out of the precarious situation.
