Only in the first set did Novak Djokovic have problems starting at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo. In the end, however, the Serb clearly prevailed in two sets against Ivan Gakhov .

World number one Novak Djokovic was able to end his start at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo on a positive note despite initial difficulties. The Serb prevailed in the second round of the well-paid clay court event in the Monegasque principality against the Russian qualifier Ivan Gakhov after 1:48 hours 7: 6 (5), 6: 2.
