Struff set the pace against Lucky Loser Aljaz Bedene from Slovenia right from the start and managed to win his opponent's first service game in both the first and second round. In the end, Struff scored 6: 3 and 6: 1 after 66 minutes of play.

In round two, a tougher nut is now waiting for the German Davis Cup player: Andrey Rublev, who has already won in Rotterdam this year and is a finalist in Monte Carlo. And therefore number seven of the traditional tournament in the Foro Italico.

Sinner meets Nadal

Aslan Karatsev has meanwhile fixed a purely Russian duel with Daniil Medvedev with his success against Miomir Kecmanovic. It is difficult to say who is the favorite in the encounter of the climber of the year against the number two in the world again from today: Medvedev and the red ashes, this is not yet a love affair.

The Italians were also satisfied with Monday: Jannik Sinner had no problems against Ugo Humbert and is now playing against Rafael Nadal . Stefano Travaglia are also ahead after beating Benoit Paire and Gianluca Mager, who celebrated his first ever match win at 1000 level against Alex de Minaur.
