In the first set, the tournament favorite and six-time Miami champion made it unnecessarily exciting: After an early break, Djokovic led 5-2, but had to accept the rebreak in the ninth game. After 47 minutes, the Serb got the first set 7: 5.

In round two, Djokovic presented again with a break to 3: 1, but had to give up his service after a sensational point from Delbonis. A thug had to believe it, Djokovic received a warning. The Argentine kept up well, scoring several times with his backhand, usually not exactly the best of Delbonis. But he made the next break right away, also thanks to a double error by the favorite. And the Davis Cup champion from 2016 did not stop shining: after 87 minutes of play Delbonis made the set equalization.

In the decision, the same picture as in set two: Djokovic again took the lead to the 3-1 lead. This time, Delbonis had no comeback. On the contrary: Novak Djokovic struck again as a setback, set to 5: 1. And after just under two hours of play, he took the victory.

In the round of 16 it goes against Roberto Bautista-Agut on Tuesday, who had no problems with Fabio Fognini. Djokovic lost to Bautista-Agut at the beginning of the year in Doha - overall, however, the world number one leads head-to-head with 7: 2 victories.
