ATP Munich: Altmaier's comeback against Kecmanovic unrewarded

Daniel Altmaier was eliminated in the round of 16 of the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Munich. In the second set, the German still had a few chances against Miomir Kecmanovic after falling behind.

Altmaier was already 2: 6 and 2: 5 behind against Kecmanovic - the Serb suddenly opened the door to a comeback again. Altmaier made the break to make it 3: 5, created a total of five break chances in the tenth game, but Kecmanovic countered all of them. After a playing time of 72 minutes, however, number seven of the tournament prevailed. Kecmanovic meets either Ilya Ivashka or defending champion Nikoloz Basilashvili in Friday's quarterfinals.

From a German perspective, only Alexander Zverev and Oscar Otte are represented in the main field in Munich. Zverev meets Holger Rune on Wednesday, Otte will face Reilly Opelka from the USA on Thursday.
