ATP Washington: Sebastian Ofner fails in the final qualifying round

Sebastian Ofner got off to a good start in qualifying for the ATP 500 event in the US capital yesterday, Saturday. The Austrian won the first round of qualification against the Japanese Tatsumi Ito in two sets on Saturday.

For the surprising qualification for the tournament in Washington DC, however, it should not be enough for the Styrian - and newly crowned Austrian champion. Ofner fails on Monday night (Austrian time) in the final qualifying round against the Indian Ramkumar Ramanathan.

The Styrian was still able to keep the game open in the first round, but Ofner had to accept the decisive break at the score of 5: 6 - Ramanathan converted his first set ball. The decision in this game. With Sebastian Ofner the thread broke, with 6: 1 the Indian fixed his place in the main field of the tournament endowed with 500 ATP points.
