Zverev lost 205 points over the previous year after dropping out against Cristian Garin in the quarter-finals of the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Munich. Federer had nothing to defend by nature, the Swiss competes on sand for the first time since 2016 this week. Dominic Thiem remained fifth, Novak Djokovic continues to lead the world rankings ahead of Rafael Nadal.

Stefanos Tsitsipas made up a place with his tournament win in Estoril, the Greek is now ninth. Last week paid off for the two Munich finalists: winner Christian Garin improved by 14 positions to 33rd, Matteo Berrettini increased sixth places, the Italian is currently 31st.

From a German perspective, Jan-Lennard Struff is the new number two, the Warsteiner is number 49 one place ahead of Philipp Kohlschreiber. Sebastian Ofner in turn moved up to 126th place with the success at the Challenger in Puerto Vallarta, the previous career high of the Austrian.

In the annual ranking, the Race to London, only Tsitsipas and Thiem switched places, the Greek is currently fourth. Major shifts are not expected until after the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid this week.
