If you look at the current profile pictures of the Instagram accounts from the ATP and the WTA, you will notice that they now show a blue and yellow bow. On Tuesday afternoon, a video was shared in the stories on the respective platforms, which is intended to draw attention to the website tennisplaysforpeace.com and was produced by Elina Svitolina and Sergiy Stakhovsky. The appropriate article can be found on the ATP website, among others.
Each association donates $100,000
Accordingly, the organizations have launched a joint donation of $ 700,000. After the unanimous condemnation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine a few days ago, further aid to support the people affected by the crisis is to be initiated in the coming weeks.
It also said that all seven organizations (ATP, WTA, ITF, Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open) each provided $100,000 in emergency aid on Tuesday. The campaign is to be expanded via digital media under the hashtag #tennisplaysforpeace. There will also be ribbons for players to wear at the Indian Wells tournament.
You too can take part
Under this link you can also do your part to ensure that the joint project receives more support. There is a video on Youtube here.
