Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev, the men immediately behind Novak Djokovic in the list of laws at the Australian Open 2019, had shown how easy it was to follow the first in the world rankings. And so after the 6: 3, 6: 2 and 6: 2 against Mitchell Krueger, the four top favorites have not yet given a sentence. And hardly got a sweat.

Krueger, who had won second place in the upper half of the table through qualification, started cheekily with a break, but in the long run had no means to keep up with the six-time Melbourne winner. Even if he bravely defended himself, as in the third game of the third set. Feeling longer than the whole second set, Krueger and Djokovic fought for the 2-1 lead, Djokovic then got the break a few moments later - and didn't look back.

In the second round, the 2008 final against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will be reissued. At that time, the Frenchman won the first set, but ended up losing in four rounds. Overall Djokovic leads with 16: 6 victories, the last success of Tsonga dates from the tournament in Montreal in 2014.
