Australian Open: Antonia Lottner plays confidently in the main field

Great success for 23-year-old Antonia Lottner. With a safe 6: 4 and 6: 2 victory in the last qualifying round of the Australian Open, the German made the leap into the main field. After a smooth opening success, Lottner only had to shiver briefly in the second qualifying round, but was able to prevail in three sets against the Japanese Chihiro Muramatsu.
During the course of the day it will be announced which opponent the German will face in the main field of the Australian Open. It will be her third appearance in the main round of a major, but the native of Düsseldorf has so far been prevented from jumping into round two. At the beginning of next week, Lottner will have the chance to top this result.
