The cards for the upcoming Australian Open finally seem to be open on the table: Tennis Australia has informed the WTA that vaccinated players can enter without a quarantine or a bladder, but athletes who are not yet protected have to be quarantined for two weeks. And in a hard one. The same must of course also apply to men.

If you have fully immunized yourself, you have to bring a negative test certificate in order to be allowed to enter. And present another negative test within the first 24 hours of arrival. After that, however, these players are no longer subject to any restrictions.

Those professionals who have so far refrained from getting vaccinated have to work with this information. Anyone planning with two stitches should start doing so soon. After all, in recent years it has become common practice to arrive as early as possible for the first major of the year. Tennis Australia has dated the rules described above from December 1st, 2021.
