No problems for Novak Djokovic. The tournament favorite prevailed in round two of the Australian Open with 6: 3, 7: 5 and 6: 4 against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and thus made 17: 6 victories in the direct record with the Frenchman. Tsonga had entered the tournament with a wildcard and had defeated Martin Klizan from Slovakia at the start. Djokovic had to fight harder in his three-set win against Mitchell Krueger than the smooth result ultimately said.

In the last match of the day in the Rod Laver Arena, however, the Serbian industry leader showed a consistently concentrated performance, even if Tsonga always ambitiously pursued his balls.

Djokovic now meets one of the young savages on the tour: Denis Shapovalov. The Canadian prevailed against Taro Daniel on Thursday.
