It will soon be 28 years since Boris Becker and Michael Stich won Olympic gold in doubles in Barcelona in 1992. The celebration of this success is still pending.

These days, Rafael Nadal shows himself primarily as a cook in his own four walls, of course the twelve-time French Open champion also gives a competent impression at home. Nevertheless, it can be assumed that Nadal also likes to eat out. And the party celebrates as it falls. It would therefore be very surprising if Nadal had not recognized his Olympic triumph in Rio de Janeiro 2016 alongside Marc Lopez with his partner.

For Bob and Mike Bryan, Olympic gold medal winners 2012 in London, this goes without saying. And Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka will also have found an opportunity to celebrate the evening in Beijing 2008 after the double victory. Boris Becker and Michael Stich, however, have been waiting for dinner together to celebrate the gold medal they won in Barcelona since 1992.

Niki Pilic mediates between Boris Becker and Michael Stich

So Becker told in "Kasi live" in the Instagram chat in our channel "tennisnetnews". Stich had left immediately after the match with his wife Jessica, since then the two German legends have been trying to find an appointment for dinner. Logistics is not that easy: Michael Stich remained in Germany, while Becker has lived in London for many years.

Last year, Munich would have been the ideal location, where Becker, as Head of Men's Tennis in the German Tennis Association, has already followed the traditional ATP tournament. And Stich was awarded the Iphitos Award by the organizers. In addition, Munich would also be the place where the great mediator between the former by no means best friends feels at home: Niki Pilic, who ran his tennis academy near the Bavarian capital for many years. Perhaps the Croatian legend has to take it in hand again and, as in 1992, bring Boris Becker and Michael Stich to a table. Literally.
