Sevastova had only slipped into the tableau for a short time, actually the French woman Carolin Garcia should have opened in Berlin. But Sevastova took full advantage of the hour and won the final of the final over two-time Wimbledon champion Kvitova. Already in the semifinals Sevastova had surprised with a smooth 6: 1, 6: 1 against the world ranking fifth Elina Svitolina.

Kvitova had already lost the "first" finale of bett1Aces against Svitolina, the grass mat at Steffi Graf Stadium; However, this had already been played in Hangar 6 at Tempelhof due to the bad weather conditions.

Dominic Thiem had previously won the men's competition with a 6: 4, 6: 2 over Jannik Sinner and thus - after his victory on grass on Wednesday - put a double pack.
