Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund rub: "Be careful, my friend!"

Dan Evans got upset about Kyle Edmund after a match in the Battle of the Brits tournament series. After the duel between the two top players in Great Britain, which Evans won 6-4, 6-4, there was a spicy "handshake" despite Corona requirements.

After his transformed match ball, Evans cheered loudly in the direction of his supervisor's bench before he held his racket far over the net to offer Edmund the corona check. This was a bit rabid, which Evans didn't like.

"Be very careful, Kyle. Be very careful, my friend," Evans sent after his opponent. Evans then got even clearer about the teammates of his "Union Jacks": "He smashed my racket," he complained as teammate Heather Watson tried to downplay the scene. "It was just fun," she said, but Evans didn't want to believe her.

Edmund then tried to downplay the scene. "That was nothing. He misinterpreted it," said Edmund.

The "Battle of the Brits" was launched by the British tennis association LTA to offer professional players a variety of matches at a high level. There are a total of 60 matches : 40 singles, 20 doubles.

Two teams of 13 players each, the Union Jacks and the British Bulldogs, compete against each other. The later the matches take place, the more points a match win counts for the overall ranking. A team must collect a total of 60 points to win.
