The reactions to the positive COVID-19 tests on the sidelines of the second stage of the Adria Tour, which was launched by Novak Djokovic, were extremely critical. The industry leader, in particular, was accused of negligent behavior that the Serb had behaved "ruthlessly" when the ATP Tour was resumed. While the critics naturally prevailed, a few companions soon stood behind the 17-time Grand Slam champion.

Dayana Yastremska is now taking the same line as Niki Pilic or Goran Ivenisevic, who is addressing her fans in an Instagram post and commenting on the events in Belgrade and Zadar. "The organizers and players of the event were under tremendous pressure. Somehow it even gets out of the way that this competition was conducted in accordance with the norms and regulations of the country. If I had had the opportunity to host such a tournament, it would have been I didn't hesitate for a second, "said the world ranking list 25.

"Disgusting and disgusting to see what Novak is going through"

Yastremska was "concerned and dismayed by the situation that has developed around the organization of the" Adria Tour "tournament in Serbia," said the 20-year-old on Instagram. The Ukrainian is shocked that Novak Djokovic is now facing such vehement criticism. "It is disgusting and disgusting to see what Novak is going through. All the blame has been put on the person who just wanted to bring joy and positive emotions to the people," said Yastremska.

It will now be completely forgotten what the industry leader has done to fight the virus, because with his foundation the Serb has donated over a million US dollars to fight the virus. "I am sure that the tournament hosts did not want all this mess, but it did happen," added Yastremska. The Ukrainian closes her statement with a few supportive words to Novak Djokovic: "I would like to wish Novak, his family and his team a speedy recovery! Novak, you have a great soul and you are a great man!"

The fact is that there were no protective measures in the course of the Adria Tour, hugs, handshakes and full contact sports such as football or basketball were on the agenda in the tournaments of the Balkan countries. However, those actions were covered by the regulators in the two host countries, and the organizers always emphasized that they had complied with the national rules. The Adria Tour should at best have shown that these rules are not sufficient for protection against COVID-19 in an international sport such as tennis.
