Six of the eight finalists for the London O2 Arena have been announced. So far, the last player to secure a ticket to the final in Shanghai was Stefanos Tsitsipas. Dominic Thiem has been able to weigh himself safely in Beijing since last week. For the Austrian number one, it will be the fourth appearance in the British capital in mid-November. So far Dominic Thiem has won one match a year.

2016: Victory against Monfils as the highlight at the premiere

Milos Raonic in the hall is not one of Dominic Thiem's preferred opponents. After a tight first set, the Austrian lost 6: 7 (5) and 3: 6. Gael Monfils, however, can come on any surface. Thiem beats the Frenchman 6: 3, 1: 6 and 6: 4. Thiem gets an epic tie-break against Novak Djokovic, but is defeated 7: 6 (10), 2: 6 and 0: 6.

2017: once fear, sometimes favorite opponent

Yes, Dominic Thiem can also win important matches against David Goffin (see French Open 2016), but he doesn't really like the Belgian game. Not even in the O2 arena. Goffin wins 6: 4 and 6: 1. The Lower Austrian is very fond of courting Pablo Carreno Busta, who stands in for Rafael Nadal in London. Thiem wins 6: 3, 3: 6 and 6: 4. Against Grigor Dimitrov, the opening with 3: 6, 7: 5 and 5: 7 is narrowly lost.

2018: revenge on Nishikori

A change of emotions at the last appearance so far. First, Thiem defends himself against Kevin Anderson, whom he beat in Madrid and at the US Open, to the last point, losing 3-6 and 6-7 (10). A Roger Federer who was pretty eaten after his loss to Kei Nishikori then did not stay long with Dominic, 6: 2 and 6: 3 for the Maestro. After all, in Vienna Thiem had clearly lost against Nishikori, in London he returned the favor with 6: 1 and 6: 4.
