DTB German Pro Series: No comeback from Carina Witthöft
Tennis player Carina Witthöft has to postpone her comeback again after a break of one and a half years. The Hamburg native had planned to compete in the new tournament series of the German Tennis Association (DTB) in Stuttgart on Tuesday.

On Monday, however, the DTB announced that Witthöft had canceled their participation due to injury and will be replaced by Romy Kölzer at the invitation tournament.
The 25-year-old Witthöft, who was considered a great hope in German tennis after her third round entry at the 2015 Australian Open, had contested her last match on the professional tour in January 2019. At that time, she had given up in the first round of qualifications for the Australian Open. Due to mental problems and the high pressure of expectations, Witthöft then took a break for an indefinite period. Already in February a short comeback attempt failed due to back problems.
