Yves Allegro, a former Swiss tennis professional, was cleared of charges of raping an Austrian on Tuesday in his home country. However, due to sexual assault, the court sentenced him to two years in prison.

The court concluded that the woman had been at least partially victim to alcohol-related violence and brutality. She was undoubtedly approached sexually, her trauma was real. However, it has not been proven that there has been rape, so a conviction for sexual assault is made. The ex-tennis professional wants to contest the saying.

Sorry by SMS

The prosecutor had ordered four years in prison. The 41-year-old was responsible for events that are said to have happened in Tallinn, Estonia in October 2014. According to the indictment, coach delegations from Austria and Switzerland jointly undertook an extensive restaurant tour. The accused ended up with the Austrian in his hotel room. Sexual assault is said to have occurred there.

The following day, neither the Swiss nor the Austrian should have remembered what happened that night. The Valais wrote an SMS to the woman, apologizing for behavior "that had nothing to do with that of a gentleman". The Austrian woman indicated 48 hours later that she had remembered the events of the night bit by bit and that she may have been the victim of a sexual assault. So she felt severe pain and discovered bruises on her body.
