Elena-Gabriela Ruse from Romania is now waiting for the third qualifying match on Friday. Ruse is listed in the WTA world rankings at position 178 and was able to prevail against the tenth-placed Francesca di Lorenzo from the USA in two sets.
Barbara Haas had problems with Julia Grabher - and with the weather. The match had to be interrupted several times, Grabher started with a break lead in both sets. After 78 minutes of play, Haas was able to celebrate its entry into the qualifying final.
