French Open 2020: Jelena Ostapenko throws Karolina Pliskova out
An early end for Karolina Pliskova : The number two seeded Czech was eliminated in the second round of the French Open. Pliskova had to admit defeat to the 2017 Paris winner, Latvian Jelena Ostapenko , 4-6, 2-6 on Thursday.

At the US Open in New York, Pliskova failed as number one on the seed list in the second round to the unseeded French Caroline Garcia. Most recently in Rome, Pliskova had to give up in the final against Simona Halep after a little more than half an hour of play due to injury.
Serena Williams said goodbye to the top seeded players on Wednesday. However, without having hit a ball against her second-round opponent Tsvetana Pironkova. Williams withdrew because of achilles tendon complaints.
