French Open 2020: Venus Williams ends season after opening failure

"I'm going home from here. I'm finished. If there's still a game somewhere, I won't be there," said Williams after the 4-6, 4-6 defeat against Anna Karolina Schmiedlova from Slovakia.
For the once so successful sister of Serena Williams, it was the third opening defeat in Grand Slam tournaments in a row. You are currently not looking forward to the tennis year 2021, said Williams. "It was a very long year of quarantine. Now I'll rest," said the American: "I'm looking forward to it."
