The defending champions did not make it easy for themselves in their final on the Philippe-Chatrier court: Before Kristina Mladenovic could finally serve up to zero, there were seven breaks in a row. With the score of 5: 4 in the second set, Timea Babos did not manage to close the thing. As with the men with Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies, the winners from 2019 prevailed in the end.

Guarachi and Krawczyk had entered the tournament as number 14 and had eliminated the favorites on their way to the final with Su-Wei Hsieh and Barbora Strycova. And in the semifinals Iga Swiatek also prevented the double strike: The Polish woman, who won the singles competition at the 2020 French Open on Saturday, had also played a strong double tournament alongside Nicole Melichar.
