French Open: Dominic Thiem second match after 11:00 a.m., Rafael Nadal in the evening

The schedule for Monday at the French Open is here. While Dominic Thiem and Angelique Kerber riot at noon, Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev don't start until evening. Serena Williams will play the third match after 11:00 a.m.

The first day at the French Open yesterday, Sunday, was peppered with highlights. While the first of two first round duels between two former Grand Slam champions in favor of the Swiss came to an end with the clash between Stan Wawrinka and Andy Murray, the second duel between two major winners, the duel between Dominic Thiem, will follow today, Monday and Marin Cilic.

Accordingly, the organizers of the Grand Slam at the Bois de Bolougne placed this match in the schedule for today, the newly crowned US Open champion will start the second Grand Slam as a second match after 11:00 a.m. against Marin Cilic within a few days. Before that, Petra Kvitova and Oceane Dodin will open the action at Court Philippe-Chatrier.

First Williams, then Nadal

Immediately after Thiem's first-round match, Serena Williams will also start in the French Open, the American meets her compatriot Kristie Ahn and begins another mission with the 24th Grand Slam title as her goal. Rafael Nadal has four major titles fewer than Williams. The man who will end the match day at the largest seat at the Stade Roland Garros has. The record winner from Paris meets Igor Gerasimov in the evening.

Jan-Lennard Struff, Daniel Altmaier and Tamara Korpatsch will also play their first round matches on Monday. Struff meets Francis Tiafoe in the third match on Court 12, before Tamara Korpatsch and Anastasia Anisimova meet there. Daniel Altmaier faces Feliciano Lopez in the last match of the day on Court 11.
