Top seeded Iga Swiatek meets Cristina Bucsa in round 1. Tournament No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka takes on Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk. That was the result of the draw for the main field games on Thursday afternoon.

Elena Rybakina will play against a qualifier. /

From a German point of view, Tatjana Maria meets Beatriz Haddad Maia, who is number 14, Jule Niemeier has caught an even more difficult lot with Daria Kasatkina, who is number nine. Kasatkina had reached the semi-finals in Paris last year, but has not yet fully convinced this season.

Anna-Lena Friedsam is dealing with a qualifier - or a lucky loser.

Ajla Tomljanovic, Jennifer Brady, Paula Badosa and Patricia Maria Tig canceled their start at short notice, so four lucky losers will still slip into the main draw.

The final qualifiers will take place on Friday.
