The draw for the French Open 2022 will take place on Thursday. The most exciting question for men is: Where will Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz end up?

When the men's draw was scheduled for this year's Australian Open, the whole world looked to Melbourne. The name Novak Djokovic was initially listed at the top end of the grid, but for known reasons the Serb was not allowed to participate in the first Grand Slam event of the season.

There is no threat of such a scenario at the French Open in Paris, but there is still high tension among the men before the draw (Thursday, 6:45 p.m.). The two reasons for this come from Spain and go by the names of Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. Nadal will be seeded fifth in Paris, Alcaraz will start the race as number six. Accordingly, Djokovic could meet one of the two Iberians in the quarterfinals.

Medvedev as a preferred opponent

Behind Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas occupy positions two to four. With all due respect to Medvedev, Nadal and Alcaraz should be hoping to end up in the reigning US Open champion's quarters. Thus, the two would avoid a possible duel with Djokovic until the final.

Dominic Thiem, who has already reached the final twice at the French Open, will probably have nothing to do with the title fight. In view of this fact, the top players would probably like to avoid an early duel with the unseeded Austrian despite his negative run. Other unpleasant first-round opponents for the seeds include Holger Rune, Fabio Fognini, David Goffin and Stan Wawrinka.
