For Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies it already looked in the round of 16 of the doubles competition at this year's French Open as if the two Germans would have to declare mission title defense a failure. Against the two local heroes Bonzi / Hoang, KraMie were even able to fend off match balls and finally prevailed in the tie-break of the third set.
The two Britons Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski should now wait in the quarter-finals. This should represent the meeting of the number eight (Krawietz / Mies) and number thirteen (Murray / Skupski) doubles. The two Germans got off to a better start in this match, got the break and finally served round one to zero to 6: 4.
Good start to set two
Krawietz / Mies were able to take this momentum with them in round two, they made the break in the first game of the set and were ultimately able to transport it to a 6-4 and 6-4 victory. In the semi-finals, the German duo will face the winner of the game Woolhof / Mektic against Monroe / Paul.
