French Open: Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in the afternoon, Rafael Nadal in the night session

The schedule for tomorrow's Thursday at the French Open promises world-class tennis: Rafael Nadal , Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will start in the afternoon.

The game day at Court Philippe-Chatrier will be opened by the number one in the women's tennis world, the Australian Ash Barty. In the second round she has to deal with Magda Linette from Poland. In the first round, Barty had won a tough fight - and in particular had to struggle with an injury. The winner from 2019 is counted before her second round duel with Linette.

Barty is followed by the duel between Karolina Pliskova and Sloane Stephens. Both had to work reasonably hard for their progress in round one, Pliskova kept the upper hand against returnee Donna Vekic in two tight sets, the US-American prevailed against the comeback queen Carla Suarez Navarro in three sets. And had already stood with his back to the wall.

Nadal and Federer at Center Court

After that, the stage at Center Court is clear for Roger Federer, who returned to Paris very convincingly on Monday. In a duel between two Grand Slam winners, the Swiss will face Marin Cilic from 4 p.m. The matchday at Court Philippe-Chatrier will finally be decided by the 13-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal from 9:00 p.m., who will face the local hero Richard Gasquet - in front of empty stands.

World number one Novak Djokovic, who will meet clay court specialist Pablo Cuevas as the third match of the day, has to make do with the second largest arena. Before that, Ann Li and Elina Svitolina face each other on the court of Suzanne Lenglen, before Mikael Ymer and Gael Monfils will meet. The game day on this court is finally decided by Kiki Mladenovic and Anett Kontaveit.

Sinner and Berrettini at the Simonne-Mathieu

The Italian Festival will take place on Thursday at the Simonne-Mathieu Court. After Matteo Berrettini contests his second round match with Federico Coria, youngster Jannik Sinner has to deal with farmer Gianluca Mager. Then Fiona Ferro meets Jennifer Brady before the defending champion Iga Swiatek against Rebecca Peterson ends the game day.

Other interesting match-ups on Thursday: Philipp Kohlschreiber will meet the whiz kid Aslan Karatsev (second match after 11:00 am), Jan-Lennard Struff will try his strong form against Facundo Bagnis (fourth match after 11:00 am) Confirmation of the opening win against Andrey Rublev and Diego Schwartzman, semi-finalist from the previous year, will face the Slovenian Aljaz Bedene on Court 14 in the second match of the day.
