Jurij Rodionov won a thriller at the start of qualifying at Roland Garros

After an official playing time of 2:38 hours, Rodionov prevailed 4:6, 6:3 and 7:5. In the twelfth game of the decisive set, however, there were again discussions lasting several minutes at Matchball Rodionov. Namely whether the Austrian stopped the rally in time after an alleged outball by Marterer. The referee awarded the point Marterer, but Rodionov didn't lose his nerve.

In round two, Rodionov, who won the ATP Challenger tournament in Mauthausen a week ago, will face the Russian Pavel Kotov.

Old master Philipp Kohlschreiber was eliminated in round one. The long-standing German number one lost to Enzo Couacaud 4: 6 and 6: 7 (2). One round further is Cedric-Marcel Stebe, who won against Kacper Zuk 3:6, 6:1 and 6:4.
