That's looking very good for the German women who are involved in qualifying for the French Open 2022. First there is Jule Niemeier, who won her second match against Jessika Ponchet from France 6:4 and 6:0 on Wednesday. The last hurdle before the peloton is now the Japanese Moyuka Uchijama.

Laura Siegemund was also convincing, beating number four in the competition, Chinese Xiyu Wang, 6:3 and 6.3. Next opponent for Siegemund will be the Sapnierin Crista Bucsa.

And Nastasja Schunk was also happy about entering the third round. Schunk won against Veronica Cepede Roig 6:3 and 6:1 and plays against either Julia Grabher from Austria or Hailey Baptiste from the USA.

Katharina Gerlach, on the other hand, was eliminated after losing to Yuiki Naito from Japan 6:2, 3:6 and 3:6. Later on Wednesday, Tamara Korptsch still has the opportunity to secure entry into the qualification final against Joanne Zueger as well as Siegemund, Schunk and Niemeier.
