The serial winner and world number one Iga Swiatek (20) prefers a quick end to her run of success. "Being aware of it" is "pretty healthy," said the Pole before the French Open in Paris.

She doesn't want her "heart to break when it happens," explained Swiatek, who has now won 28 games and five tournaments in a row on the tennis tour.
Swiatek is also the top favorite in Roland Garros, having already won the Grand Slam tournament on clay in 2020. But she points out: "I haven't played a Grand Slam since the start of the series, so we'll see if everything I've done before is enough."
Even if she is stacked low before the start of the tournament on Sunday, Swiatek approaches the task "positively" and also "relaxed". "I've proved to myself and others that I can play at the top. I didn't have that much confidence before, so I feel more at peace this year," said Swiatek, who moved up to number one after Australia's Ashleigh Barty retired.
The world has changed as a result, she has the impression, said Swiatek, "that people treat me a little differently because of the new ranking". But she feels "as the same player, as the same person as before". There is still a lot to improve.
Swiatek meets qualifier Lesia Tsurenko at the start of the tournament .
