The top seeded Cedrik-Marcel Stebe and Oscar Otte won in Group A of the Tannenhof Resort German Men's Series.

"I am very satisfied with my performance because it was my goal from the start to reach the final," said Stebe. The Davis Cup player, who was traded as a favorite, qualified in Meerbusch with two group wins for the final in Großhesselohe. There he meets his training partners at the DTB federal base in Munich, Yannick Hanfmann and Maximilian Marterer. “It's great that the final round is taking place on our doorstep. Yannick, Maximilian and I know each other inside and out, so the shape of the day will decide. ”

The Munich trio in Großhesselohe is complemented by Oscar Otte from Cologne, who won Group A with three victories in Meerbusch: “I haven't played that often in Munich, let's see if the difference in height is noticeable. But I think the cards will be shuffled again in the final. ”

Hanfmann and Marterer dominate Group B

Meanwhile, Yannick Hanfmann and Maximilian Marterer bought the final tickets in Group B of the Tannenhof Resort German Men's Series. "I'm just happy that I can play for another week and that the final takes place at home in Munich. Everyone can win against everyone, ”said Hanfmann, who achieved three wins in his group in Meerbusch.

Maximilian Marterer also triumphed with two victories and has big plans for the final near his Bavarian training facility: “I am looking forward to Großhesselohe. The conditions there are in my game, even if it is of course a bit harder to play against buddies with whom you train and who know you very well. But that can happen and it also means that we have all performed well so far. ”

Hanfmann finishes first in the semifinals

In the final cross-group placement games on Sunday in Meerbusch, Yannick Hanfmann prevailed against Oscar Otte in the match for first place and thereby secured the semi-final winner's check of 7,000 euros. Maximilian Marterer won the game for third place against Lucas Gerch, who stood in for Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, who was absent due to illness.

“The favorites from the preliminary and intermediate rounds prevailed. There will be exciting games in Großhesselohe. The three players from Munich, who are used to the difference in altitude, should have a small advantage, which should not be underestimated, ”Davis Cup captain Michael Kohlmann looks at the final.

The preparations for the final of the Tannenhof Resort German Men's Series, which will take place in Großhesselohe from July 21st to 24th, are expected to take place at the end of next week. The game is played again after the "round robin" mode with subsequent placement games for positions one and three.
