The winner of the final tournament of the Tannenhof Resort German Men's Series at TC Großhesselohe is Yannick Hanfmann (ATP 143). In the final of the € 20,000 tournament in the “DTB Pro Series”, Hanfmann against Oscar Otte (ATP 217) benefited from a task from his opponent due to a heel injury at a score of 7: 5, 2: 1. The 28-year-old professional of the Oberhachinger TennisBase was able to accept the winner's cup, the winner's check for 8,000 euros and congratulations from the DTB President Ulrich Klaus present after the final at the Leo-Benz center court.

“The last four days have been really good. The matches were at a high level. Playing twice in Munich is fun. I feel very comfortable here. It was a cool thing and we are very grateful that the DTB hosted this tournament, ”said Hanfmann, who was able to win a second time in Großhesselohe after winning the previous round. Otte, who was unbeaten in the group games, was also satisfied with his appearances on Pullacher Strasse. “The week was great and I won against everyone. To be second after such an injury is a bit stupid. But there are worse things, ”said the Cologne native.

Die with an unfortunate head injury

The organizer of the TC Großhesselohe took positive stock of the final round and the entire tournament series on their own club grounds. On the Isarhochufer, three tournaments of the Tannenhof Resort German Men's Series had taken place at the TCG with the preliminary round, the intermediate round and the final from June to July. “We are pleased that we were able to host three weeks in Großhesselohe. We saw top class tennis, ”said TCG President Roland Benedikt at the award ceremony. The TCG, in turn, as the host, received praise from the organizing DTB. "We would like to thank the TC Großhesselohe for holding three tournaments in this series here," said Klaus.

In the game for third place between the two Oberhachinger TennisBase professionals Maximilian Marterer (ATP 376) and Cedrik-Marcel Stebe (ATP 133), Marterer prevailed after Stebe had given up at 6: 3, 2: 5 for Marterer due to injury . Stebe had accidentally missed a laceration on the head with his own bat and could not continue playing afterwards.

Undefeated honor tailor "NextGen" winner

While the tournament for Stebe ended unhappily with an operation above the eyebrows, Marterer was not dissatisfied with third place out of a total of 32 starts in the entire series. "It is a good outcome for me, even if there was more in it," said the left-hander from Nuremberg.

There was also an injury-related task in the final match of the "NextGen" competition with a total of six young German talents. In the endgame, Max Wiskandt (ITF Juniors 64) got it, who had to give up at 1: 2 in the first set due to dizziness. The unbeaten tailor in all of his three games on Pullacher Straße was the winner of the junior tournament and was awarded a prize money of 2,000 euros.

“It's a great thing to be able to play matches here in times of corona virus. In Großhesselohe is a great facility. I won three times, played great. A win like this is always something nice. You know what you're working for, ”said Ehrenschneider. In the third place game between Milan Welte (ATP 920) against Benito Sanchez-Martinez (ITF Juniors 114), Sanchez-Martinez won 7: 6 (10), 6: 3.
