Julia Görges and Kevin Krawietz want to compete together in the Olympic tennis tournament in Tokyo next year. Both confirmed this on Friday at Sky. "We plan to play again before and hope to be able to be there actively," said Görges, 31, after training together.

Krawietz would be "very happy" and said in preparation for an appearance on the Olympic stage: "It is planned to go to the French Open." There, the 27-year-old Coburger surprisingly won the title together with Andreas Mies as an unseeded double this year . It was the first German double triumph in Paris since 1937.

Julia Görges can look back on successes in mixed. In 2014 she was together with the Serbian Nenad Zimonjic in the final of the French Open, but was defeated there in the German women's duel against Anna-Lena Grönefeld (Nordhorn) and Jean-Julien Rojer (Netherlands). In addition, she was in Wimbledon (2012) and at the Australian Open (2014) in the quarterfinals.
