Team Europe has also won the fifth individual of this year's Laver Cup. For Alexander Zverev, after losing double at Matteo Berrettini's side, it is a successful rehabilitation, especially since the German had lost out there against John Isner (at the side of Denis Shapovalov). The Europeans are already pulling away to 7: 1 after Stefanos Tsitsipas won the first individual of the day against Nick Kyrgios.

In the individual duel with Isner, Zverev had to work hard and decided a very heavy first set after a very solid tie-break. The second set developed into an entertaining exchange of blows, both players had break chances, but neither of the two could use them. So the quick decision had to be made again: this time with the better ending for Isner. Who played poker wonderfully at 6: 6, guessed the right side and secured a set ball with a passing ball that the American also knew how to use.

Consequently, a champion tie-break had to bring the decision again in the course of this Laver Cup. In this, the German had a clear upper hand again, dominated the action with two early mini-breaks and finally made the three-set success with 10: 5. It was a victory against one of the best servers of all time, emphasized Zverev after his success.
