Rafael Nadal will also no longer start at the Laver Cup 2022. The Spaniard will probably take care of his wife Xisca, who is expecting their first child soon.

Salute Roger! The Laver Cup 2022 is also history for Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal just cried with his buddy Roger Federer on Friday night as if he were also saying goodbye to the professional tennis stage for good. This is not necessarily the case now. Although after his defeat by Frances Tiafoe at the US Open a few days ago, Nadal left it open when he would attack again on the ATP tour. At the moment the Spaniard has other priorities: his wife Xisca is expecting their first child together soon.

In New York, Nadal only said that he would honor his commitments at the Laver Cup. The 22-time major champion was the last competitor to arrive in London and has now opted out for the remainder of the continental comparison. But the only appearance will go down in tennis history. Just like the fact that Rafael Nadal dropped everything for Roger Federer to be there when the maestro ended his career.

Federer had already announced in advance that he would only play a double. And that Matteo Berrettini would replace him as a singles player. In the case of Nadal, this will be Cameron Norrie, who will play the second match against Taylor Fritz today.
